This California Privacy Notice (hereafter "Notice") supplements Our Privacy Policy and applies only to You if You are a resident of the State of California. It is provided to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"). Terms defined in the CCPA carry the same meaning here. Company does not currently meet the CCPA's applicability thresholds based on Our revenue and the volume of California consumer data We process; We provide this Notice as a matter of good practice regardless.
Categories of Information We Collect
Consistent with the Information Collected section of Our Privacy Policy, We may collect the following categories of personal information from California consumers:
Identifiers, such as Your name, email address, postal address, and IP address.
Customer Records information, such as Your name and contact or payment information, as described under the Financial Data heading of Our Privacy Policy.
Commercial Information, such as a record of products or services You have purchased or considered.
Internet or Network Activity, such as Your browsing behavior on Our website and Your interactions with Our cookies, as described in the Tracking Technologies section of Our Privacy Policy.
Geolocation Data, limited to the approximate location We may derive from Your IP address.
Inferences, limited to general preferences We may derive from Your interactions with Our website, such as which content You engage with.
We do not knowingly collect biometric information, precise geolocation, sensory data, professional or employment information, education information, or sensitive personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA.
How We Use This Information
We use the categories of information described above for the same purposes described under the Use of Information section of Our Privacy Policy, including to operate Our website, fulfill orders, communicate with You, send marketing communications where You have not opted out, analyze site traffic, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud, and comply with Our legal obligations.
Selling and Sharing of Your Information
We do not sell Your personal information in exchange for money. We may share limited internet activity information, such as browsing behavior, with advertising partners like Google for the purpose of measuring and personalizing advertising, but only after You affirmatively opt in to Advertising cookies through Our cookie consent banner. If You decline Advertising cookies, this sharing does not occur. We do not currently process opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control; if You would like such a signal honored, please contact us using the information below.
Your California Rights
You have the right to request that We disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information We have collected about You, the sources of that information, and the categories of third parties with whom We disclose it. You have the right to request that We delete personal information We have collected from You, and the right to request that We correct inaccurate personal information We maintain about You, each subject to certain exceptions permitted by law. You have the right to direct us not to sell or share Your personal information, which You may exercise at any time by declining Advertising cookies through Our consent banner. Because We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, the right to limit its use is not currently applicable to You. You will not be denied goods or services, charged a different price, or provided a different level of service or quality because You exercised any of these rights.
Consistent with California's Shine the Light law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83), if We disclose Your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes, You may request, once per calendar year and free of charge, a list of the categories of information disclosed and the third parties who received it.
How to Exercise Your Rights
You may submit a request under this Notice by emailing us at hello@maddoxcomms.com or by using the contact form at maddoxcommunications.com/contact. We will take reasonable steps to verify Your identity before responding, which may include confirming the name and email address associated with Your request. We will respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable request; this period may be extended once by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, and We will notify You if an extension is needed.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on Your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of Your authorization, and We may still require You to verify Your own identity directly with Us.
If We deny Your request in whole or in part, You may appeal that decision by replying to Our denial within 30 days. If Your appeal is also denied, You have the right to file a complaint with the California Privacy Protection Agency at cppa.ca.gov.
Website Monitoring and the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA)
California's Invasion of Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code §§ 630 et seq.) is a wiretapping and eavesdropping statute that has increasingly been applied to website technologies, including analytics tools, advertising pixels, chat widgets, and session-recording software, on the theory that such tools may "intercept" or "record" a visitor's interactions with a website without that visitor's consent. This section addresses how We use such technologies and how Your consent is obtained.
Our website uses analytics and advertising technologies, described in the Tracking Technologies section of Our Privacy Policy, that may record or transmit information about how You interact with Our website, such as pages viewed, links clicked, and general browsing behavior. None of these technologies activate until You affirmatively opt in through Our cookie consent banner; no such tool records or transmits Your interactions before You make that choice.
By clicking "Accept All" or otherwise enabling Analytics or Advertising cookies through Our consent banner, You consent to Our use of, and to Our service providers' use of, the corresponding tracking technologies to collect, record, and analyze Your interactions with Our website for the purposes described in Our Privacy Policy. If You decline or do not respond, those technologies remain inactive, and no such collection, recording, or analysis takes place. You may withdraw this consent at any time using the preferences icon described in the Tracking Technologies section of Our Privacy Policy, which will deactivate the corresponding technologies going forward.
We do not currently use live chat widgets or session-recording/replay software on Our website. If that changes, We will update this section and Our Privacy Policy to name the specific tool and confirm it is gated behind this same consent mechanism before it becomes active.
Consistent with the Minors section of Our Privacy Policy, this website is not directed to children under the age of 13, and We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under the age of 16.
Changes to This Notice
We may change this Notice from time to time, at Our sole discretion. Changes become effective upon posting, and We will update the "Last Updated" date above.
